This is the story of how W.Moulton-Day Sculpture began. Seeing passion and creativity turn into the business it is today.

In 2017, William made a career change to follow his creative passions. This saw him enroll onto a professional Welding and Fabrication course. Feeling inspired by his studies, and after inheriting a second-hand welder, he started to experiment with different materials and forms. He discovered a desire to work with old horseshoes and the first ever Rusty Creation was born – The Reindeer.

Initially making horseshoe reindeer for family & friends, this rapidly grew into something bigger than William imagined with Reindeer even travelling to as far away as Australia!

Following on from ‘The Reindeer’ William created a range of different items from recycled horseshoes including wine racks, boot holders, candle holders, planters and decorative hearts.

Intrigued as to how far he could push his new skills, William started to experiment and design larger sculptures from horseshoes and scrap metal. He created a ‘Fish & Hook’ in his own unique style, which caught the eye of a local fishing lake who requested a fish & fisherman sculpture; this became Rusty Creation’s very first large commission sculpture.

Fast forward to 2024 and the end of an era for the Rusty Creations name but the start of a new chapter. William felt the need to put himself to the front of the business as he creates absolutely everything himself and in his own style. Rusty Creations was therefore renamed in July 2024 to ‘W.Moulton-Day Sculpture’. The business and goals have evolve and it felt an appropriate time to include his name at the forefront of it.
